Corporate Yoga for San Diego Professionals
Yoga Schedule

"It is our pleasure to share our experience about Yana Kazbekova’s yoga classes that she has been conducting at our assisted living center for more than a year now.

Thanks to these yoga classes, we have noticed more improved alertness, better cognition, and improved balance among our seniors. Because of these results, our company has recognized Yana Kazbekova as an essential part of our physical activities program.
I invite anyone interested in observing Yana’s yoga sessions at our locations. If you have any questions please call me. "

Why Seniors Yoga?

Seniors Yoga is a specific form of the exercise that uses chairs for body placement. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, falls are the leading cause of injury death for people ages 65 and older.
Researchers from the School of Podiatric Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia examined the gait and postural stability of 24 elderly participants who were enrolled in a yoga program specifically designed for people over age 65.

At the end of the nine-week program, participants had shown following results:

faster stride

,

increased flexibility in the lower extremities

,

More confidence in walking

,

improved single-leg stance
and improved balance

Jinsup Song, D.P.M., Ph.D., Director of the Gait Study Center at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine: "People are gaining more confidence as they stand and walk at the end of the yoga intervention. People are more aware of their body posture. It [yoga] opens up a whole range of treatment options we didn't think we had before."

Researchers say this preliminary study will pave the way for a larger study on how yoga may affect the function of the foot to improve balance and stability, and prevent falls.

How it works

Call / Email Yana and schedule your FREE INTRO CLASS!

Sessions available early morning or during lunch time Monday-Friday.

Yoga is instructed at a space on your premises. Given the fact that it is mostly a chair yoga session, the space should have the number of chairs corresponding to the number of seniors.
Each session will last from 45 to 60 minutes.
Though I try to keep classes small, there is no limit to number of participants per session.
Classes in Russian, English and Spanish.

About the Instructor

Yana Kazbekova is certified by Yoga Alliance as a RYT-500 Hatha Yoga instructor.
She was drawn to yoga in her native Russia when, as a teenager, she was diagnosed with scoliosis. Since then she has been actively involved with her physical and spiritual improvement through the practice of yoga and meditation.

After graduating from Linguistic University, she moved to Mexico where she continued her formal yoga preparation. Now she keeps on her Yoga journey in the United States. She brings to her classes more than 20 years of tricultural yoga background and different spiritual and yoga traditions.

In Yana's classes, you will find a bit of seriousness, a touch of humor, and a perfect balance between the exercise and the reasons behind the practice. Yana's lessons are, at heart, a gradual, ascendant discovery of asana yoga's beauty. You will carefully learn the basic steps and fix your body from head to toe, without getting injured.
This is how you learn to listen and respect your body as a vehicle, temple, flower and best friend…
